We are a couple in our 30s living just 200 meters from the beach in a picturesque village near Lourinha. We share our home with an amazing and adventurous cat named Joey.
Help Needed Throughout the Year at Our Coastal Guesthouse
January to April: Coastal living brings humid winters, requiring regular maintenance tasks such as cleaning, painting walls and metal railings, repairing furniture, and more. In February and March, we seek skilled volunteers with experience in wall painting and home renovations. If you’re artistic and enjoy making décor changes, your contributions are welcome!
April to October: As the village fills with tourists and surfers, and friends and family visit, our guesthouse gets busy. We need someone reliable to meticulously manage daily chores. This includes maintaining spotless bathrooms, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and assisting with kitchen preparations. Precision and cleanliness are essential during this bustling period.
Autumn/Winter Months: General maintenance and deep cleaning are the focus during these seasons.
Caring for Joey: Our adventurous cat, Joey, requires twice-daily walks, primarily in the mornings. Joey walks on a leash and is quite high maintenance, but we love caring for him! Volunteers will be trained by us, and Joey will help guide them. We occasionally foster kittens and seek volunteers to help care for them, socialize them, and provide love and attention. Cat lovers are essential; those with allergies should not apply.
We seek open-minded, creative, responsible individuals with initiative and a strong work ethic. Volunteers over 21 are preferred for reliability. We follow a plant-based diet, so a similar lifestyle is a plus. Please include the word „banana” in your introduction message to indicate you’ve read our profile.

We provide volunteers with accommodation in one of our rooms, which may be shared with a guest, friend, or family member during the summer months. Additionally, we offer breakfast and one other meal. Since we enjoy cooking plant-based dishes, you are welcome to join us for meals.
