Volunteer in Colombia on a tropical farm – requirements & tasks
Arcapacha is a peaceful place near Yopal, Colombia, where you can relax and learn about nature. It’s in a beautiful forest with mountains and rivers, about 2 hours south of Bogota.
We’re looking for helpers interested in cocoa cultivation and production, as well as those willing to assist with various tasks on the farm, including painting, decorating, construction, maintenance, and cleaning the common areas of Arcapacha.
After breakfast at 8 am, we head out to work in the fields. The cocoa trees are located on hillsides amidst rivers and tropical rainforest, with an average temperature of 25 degrees Celsius (77 degrees Fahrenheit).
Depending on the time of year, we’ll be harvesting the fruits, pruning the trees, or making seedbeds. Volunteers will have the opportunity to learn everything about cocoa cultivation. We also work on maintaining the facilities, which includes carpentry, construction, painting, and gardening.
Join us in nature, surrounded by rivers and trails, to relax in a stunning surroundings. Besides cultivating cocoa, we offer a studio for fine arts, serve healthy cuisine, and provide opportunities to practice yoga, tai chi, or meditation.
You will work for about 25 hours per week.

We have a room with a bunk bed and single rooms, depending on availability.
We provide volunteers with a full board. Before breakfast, there’s the opportunity to practice yoga in the studio. The setting is also suitable for meditation, writing, or making music.
Meals at Arcapacha are very important, and we take the time to prepare our food with care.
You can also relax in our chlorine-free river water pool, admire the beautiful landscapes, and stay connected with Wi-Fi.
