Teach English as a volunteer in Vietnam – requirements & tasks
I’m an English teacher in Ho Chi Minh City, where I lead small IELTS prep classes for local students. I also run „F.SE – English and Culture Hub,” a welcoming space for English learners to practice and connect.
To make the most of our time together, I’m looking for open-minded, friendly, and fluent English speakers to volunteer with us. We’ll create engaging experiences that combine language learning, cultural exchange, and even local cuisine for both students and volunteers.
You’ll typically work around 4 hours a day, mostly afternoons, with Fridays and Saturdays off. You’ll mainly chat with students and help them improve their English. In your free time, we can practice English together or even explore our creative sides with activities like drawing, singing, or crafting. I’ll also be your personal guide to the city, offering tours and recommendations whenever you’re ready.
Getting around is easy and cheap, with motorbike taxis being a popular choice. I’ll help you navigate the city and discover the diverse neighborhoods, each with its unique charm. There’s a great selection of affordable restaurants and street food vendors nearby, so you’ll never go hungry.
You may also visit other amazing destinations nearby. Cai Be floating market, Cu Chi tunnels, Can Gio mangrove biosphere reserve, and beautiful beaches are very close to HCMC.
Teach English as a volunteer in Vietnam – what we offer
While I can’t host you at my place, you’re more than welcome to come and visit! I’ll book you a bed in a nearby hostel dorm and cover the cost. Getting to and from work is on me – I’ll cover your Grab Bike rides.
I provide a half board on workdays, and we’ll occasionally try out local restaurants. I’m also happy to teach you some Vietnamese cooking if you’re interested. Feel free to enjoy Vietnamese instant coffee and tea throughout your stay.
In return for your help, I’ll also provide support and guidance throughout your stay, ensuring you have a fulfilling and enjoyable experience in Vietnam.
